You enter through the stable-style door – perfect to have half-open on warm days – and find yourself in the sunny, beamed dining parlour with its traditional Suffolk red-brick floor. There is an antique cherrywood table in front of a cast-iron bioethanol fire (fuel provided). Please note the restricted head height of 6’ 6” to the beams in the Parlour. Anyone over 6' will want to duck. Elsewhere ceiling heights are normal.
The small but modern, well-fitted kitchen has views over a large natural pond. The kitchen has a tall fridge-freezer, slimline dishwasher, ceramic hob, integrated oven and inset stainless steel bowl with a pull-out hose mixer tap. A Nespresso machine with 12 pods is provided (more available at cost), an electric kettle, small microwave and Dualit toaster. The kitchen is well-equipped for making breakfast or a light meal.
Another door leads into the light cosy sitting room with 48" Sony smart tv where you can enjoy terrestrial channels free or satellite apps by logging into your own account. Glazed doors lead from the sitting room into the double-glazed conservatory with all-round natural views, and French doors to the garden. Comfortable chairs make this a perfect place to have a drink or read on a summer's day.
Also on the ground floor is the main bedroom with super king (180cm wide) zipped and linked Hypnos bed. Limited hanging clothes and drawer facilities are available in an adjacent walk-in utility room where suitcases can also be stashed. The luxurious en-suite bathroom overlooks the rear garden and is fitted with a fully tiled walk-in shower (1400 x 900cm), an electric mirror and heated towel rail. Ortigia shower gel and hand soap are supplied.
Up the narrow cottage staircase you will find the quiet study with small oak desk and adjustable office chair. This eaved room, with views over a large natural pond, also holds a Habitat day bed with Silentnight memory foam mattress that can be made up for a third guest on request. There is also a double-ended bath tub, wash hand basin and loo just off the room.

One well-behaved, quiet, clean dog is permitted on specific request and at no extra costs. We just ask that dogs don't go on the furniture or bed unless the protective throw provided is used.

This is how the cottage used to look back in the early C19th. While it has been fully updated to modern living standards, it has kept all traditional charm.

Quiet Cottage is the building to the far right, completely surrounded by its own garden, trees, hedgerows and ponds.
The owners of Quiet Cottage live in the other buildings and the yard is only used for occasional parking – it is not a working farmyard. Neither property is in sight of the other. Peace reigns throughout the site!
If you have any questions about the cottage or the area, please just ask. We are happy to help.
NB some SatNavs list Hollow Lane as New Road which is incorrect but they are the same in terms of directions.
